Meet the Owners
Greg & Julie Bohannon
Thrifty MedPlus Pharmacy is owned and operated by Greg and Julie Bohannon. Both Greg and Julie grew up in the Chattanooga area and have returned "home" to serve their community by offering Collegedale/Ooltewah an exceptional full-service pharmacy and compounding center.
Julie is a graduate of Samford University School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama, where she earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. After working as a community pharmacist for 9 years with Kroger Company in Peachtree City, Georgia, she now serves as Chief Pharmacist at Thrifty MedPlus.
While both Greg and Julie attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville as undergraduates, Greg went on to earn his Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Knoxville. He worked 10 years as an industrial engineer and operations manager for various Atlanta-based branches before assuming the role as Pharmacy Manager/CPhT of Thrifty MedPlus.
The Bohannons have two daughters, both now in college, and enjoy spending precious time visiting them when time allows. Outside of work and family, Greg & Julie now dedicate much of their time advocating for independent pharmacy across the state and promoting meaningful legislation to protect small community pharmacy practices much like theirs.
Pharmacists
Thrifty MedPlus employs three pharmacists that collectively have over 50 years of pharmacy experience in community practice. They are all CPR certified with the Red Cross and certified to administer immunizations such as influenza, pneumococcal, COVID-19, and shingles vaccines.
